The German Marshall Fund’s Brussels office is looking for an intern  in its Foreign Policy & Civil Society Program, specifically to work  on issues related to Wider Europe region.
The Foreign Policy and Civil Society Program approaches its  grantmaking, convening, networking, and writing/research programs with  an appreciation that policy options are most attractive to policymakers  if they take into account local political situations and have an  understanding of what is not only possible, but also what is practical.  With the help of regional offices and trust funds in the Black Sea  region and the Balkans, along with its Russia program, GMF has developed  substantial expertise in the European neighborhood and continues to  follow the developments in the various countries, as well as provide  financial assistance.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Provide administrative, event and research support for the Foreign Policy & Civil Society Program, with emphasis on the European Neighborhood Policy;
 - Take part in the day-to-day running of the busy Brussels office;
 - Exposed to GMF’s network, its high-level large events and its various policy actors; and
 - Attend various policy related events in Brussels.
 
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Fluency in English and preferably French and/or Dutch, Russian is a plus.
 - Excellent written and oral communication skills.
 - Strong interest in the European Neighborhood policy issues (Black Sea region and Russia in particular).
 - Background in foreign policy and/or international relations.
 - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and flexibility to handle diverse administrative tasks.
 - Good research skills.
 - Familiarity with European institutions.
 - Interest in transatlantic relations.
