UNESCO/Aschberg bursaries for Artists Programme at Instituto Sacatar Location: Itaparica - Brazil DL: 14 November 2011

There are two upcoming Fellowship/bursary programs to the Instituto Sacatar.  Both provide airfare, studio, room and board for eight-week residency sessions:

• UNESCO/Aschberg bursaries for Artists Programme: three bursaries to be awarded, in visual arts, creative writing (in any language) and music composition, for artists between the ages of 25 and 35, born and living in Africa, Asia, Russia, the former Soviet Republics, the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand and/or the Pacific Islands.  There is no application fee.  The deadline for submissions is 14 November 2011.

• Sacatar Open Selection Process 2012-13: approximately twenty Fellowships to be awarded, to artists of all ages, all nationalities and in all creative disciplines. There is an application fee of USD$35.00, payable at the time of submission.  The deadline for submissions is 16 January 2012.

Starting on September 1, 2011, we are accepting applications submitted, for both UNESCO/Aschberg and our Open Selection Process, electronically through www.artsapp.com/sacatar.  Do not send applications or digital files directly to the Instituto Sacatar. However, if you live in a country where internet service is not capable of managing large digital files, you may send the required materials through regular postal service.  If this is your situation, please request specific instructions for submissions at info@sacatar.org.

 

All applications---electronic and hard copy---must be received in Brazil by the stated deadline for each program.

 

We are accepting applications through an electronic portal called ArtsApp.  You may register at www.artsapp.com/sacatar for free. You may then compose your application through repeated visits to the site. You will only pay an application fee, if any, when your application is complete and you click on UPLOAD. UNESCO/Aschberg applicants pay no application fee.

 

To register to submit an application to Sacatar electronically:

 

1. Go to www.artsapp.com/sacatar.
2. In the upper right corner, click on REGISTER. 
3. Fill out the registration form.
4. After you complete the form, click on REGISTER and a new screen will appear.  In the upper right hand corner, click on MY DASHBOARD. A list of Sacatar programs will appear. 
5. Click on the Sacatar program(s) that interests you.
6. Choose the discipline that most closely describes your creative output.
7. Click on MORE to see the requirements for application.
8. Click on the green plus sign (+) to the right of the chosen discipline to fill out the Application Form.
9. Go to MY APPLICATIONS to fill out the application form and to upload your material.
10. For the Open Selection Process, click on MY CREDITS to pay the US$35 application fee. UNESCO/Aschberg bursary candidates upload their applications without paying an application fee.

 

NOTE: You do not need to fill out the application form or upload your application materials at the time you select the discipline that best describes your creative output.  You can fill out the application form and upload the required materials at a later date by logging in again at www.artsapp.com/sacatar, clicking on MY APPLICATIONS  and then clicking on EDIT.
