1. Resource Mobilization:
- Contribute to the identification of areas of common interest between the European commission and UNEP;
- Assist in monitoring and analysis relevant EU programmes and instruments for contribution to EC/UNEP common priorities and fund raising efforts for UNEP’s programmes;
- Research and alert on funding opportunities and on procedures to be followed;
- Elaborate background notes, funding alerts, etc.
- Contribute to development of training modules on EC funding opportunities and project proposals;
- Contribute to the identification of major stakeholders;
- Assist in monitoring and analysis of relevant initiatives and possible collaboration with UNEP;
- Prepare background documents, presentations, etc.
. Qualifications and experience
- University Degree in European affairs, Management, Law or Economics and/or Environment.- Strong knowledge and interest in EU policies and institutions is essential.
- Prior experience with EU institutions or in project management is an asset.
- Fluency in English is essential. French/Spanish is an asset.
- Competencies: Analytical mind; organized/structured; excellent oral and written communications skills; autonomy; team spirit; ability to deliver concise reports and information notes; excellent computer and web skills.
