I. Support the preparations of the ICLEI World Congress 2012, in particular:
Prepare communications, announcements, promotional materials, etc. and support their dissemination;
Communicate with partners, speakers, funders, sponsors and participants;
Support the program preparation and in the organization of specific program elements;
Assist in the event logistics;
Support the registration process;
Coordinate speakers, partners and participants by also using databases;
Edit congress web pages.
II. Contribute to the work of the Capacity Center, including project development and acquisition, and support other projects and congress preparations as needed.
Requirements
Degree in a relevant subject such as either Urban Planning & Management or Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience, or similar;
Interest in the areas of cities and local government, urban planning & management, environmental sustainability, and especially climate change impacts and adaptation;
Organizing skills, organized working style, creative and pro-active attitude;
Good communication style, writing and orally;
Language skills: fluent English and Portuguese orally and in writing; further languages welcome;
Some working experienced in Brazil preferred;
Computer skills: Microsoft Office; experience with web content management (preferably Typo 3); experience with Access databases desirable but not necessary;
Motivation to work in a multicultural environment.
