GMF is an equal opportunities employer.

The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) is a nonpartisan American public policy institution dedicated to promoting greater cooperation and understanding between the North America and Europe. Founded in 1972 through a gift from Germany as a permanent memorial to Marshall Plan assistance, GMF seeks to deepen understanding, promote collaboration, and stimulate exchanges of practical experience between Americans and Europeans. GMF does this by supporting individuals and institutions working on transatlantic issues, by convening leaders to discuss the most pressing transatlantic themes, and by examining ways in which transatlantic cooperation can address a variety of global policy challenges. GMF has six offices in Europe in addition to its headquarters in Washington, DC. The Brussels office’s mission is to help strengthen transatlantic cooperation by providing a better understanding of the implications of a more integrated Europe for the United States and the effect this has on U.S.-EU relations and NATO.
